This comic book is part of a larger, ongoing project started in 2006, titled Madonnas, Queens and Other Heroes, by Australian artist political commentator Geraldine Searles and Swiss artist Marlies Pekarek. Searles took Pekarek 3D sugar sculpture entitled Sugar Queen, scanned it into a digital file, then created a fantastic story and surrounding scenery to give the Sugar Queen a new context and a new journey. The cross cultural friendship of the collaborators began when Pekarek was studying art in Australia more than two decades ago.;
